〈 CHELSEA 〉The CHELSEA SHIRT is a classic round-collared men's shirt. To reduce bulk when tucked in, the placket does not extend all the way to the hem, but is cut and joined at the sixth button position. The underside of the placket features a chain stitch deliberately designed to create puckering, and the side seams are 5mm felled seams. The yoke is split and made from a half-bias fabric to allow for greater movement. Box pleats increase the range of motion, allowing for free arm movement. The cuffs are gathered, and gussets are added to the side hems for reinforcement to prevent tearing. Mother-of-pearl buttons are sewn on with a reinforced cross stitch. With a high collar, slim arms, and a moderately shaped waist, it pairs perfectly with high-waisted bottoms. The length is designed to be longer to ensure a balanced look when worn untucked. Made from 100% cotton, the fabric is a reproduction of the Dan River Oxford used in vintage Brooks shirts, making this a truly meticulously crafted piece.
